Charge your smartphone or GPS and come to the Richmond Nature Park on Saturday May 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to try a new series of geocaching—a popular, fast growing outdoor treasure hunt for families, groups and individuals of all ages.

“The Geocaching Extravaganza will launch the new Richmond GeoTour “Canada 150 Series” that features 20 new geocaches highlighting natural and cultural heritage sites and some of the community’s hidden gems.”

The first 150 participants who find all 20 of the “Canada 150 Series” geocaches may redeem their completed passport for a limited edition Canada 150 trackable Geocoin. With the addition of this new series, the City of Richmond’s GeoTour now includes 50 geocaches in total.

This free event includes everything you need to know to start geocaching. Experienced geocachers will show beginners how to find caches that are cleverly hidden or in plain sight at the Nature Park. There will also be workshops for experienced geocachers. For full details about the City’s program, visit www.richmond.ca/geocaching and for the event page, visit GC71AFT on www.geocaching.com.
